Anti-Sulfur Thick Film Chip Resistors
There are a number of markets that can benefit frome film resistors protected against the effects of sulfurization (deterioration of the terminals caused by the reaction of silver in the terminals to sulfur exposure) including industrial manufacturing, data and storage centers, industrial motor controls, notebook and desktop computers, telecommunication base stations, and any number of outdoor applications. Riedon has expanded its line of performance chip resistors to include the ASC series utilizing anti-sulfur construction and including an extensive range of resistance values and tolerances as tight as 0.5%.
High-Voltage/High-Power Non-Inductive Resistors
Riedon has expanded its line of high-performance power resistors to include power ratings up to 1,000 watts and a maximum voltage rating of 5,000 volts. The rugged PFU series offers a compact package intended for heatsink mounting or, for the best thermal control, a liquid cooled chiller. The PFU800 and PFU1000 are available in E24 resistance values (plus 2 Ω and 5 Ω) ranging from 0.5 Ω to 1 MΩ with tolerances as tight as 5%.
PCS Series Foil Current Sensing Resistors
Riedon’s PCS series is available in a 2321, four-terminal package style. It is rated at 40 W (3 W free air) with tolerances down to 0.1%. The PCS series’ TCR range is from ±2 ppm/°C to ±10 ppm/°C and resistance values range from 0.001 Ω to 20 Ω.
MT Series Current Sensing Resistors
Low value resistors can be used to sense when the current is too high so that measures can be taken upstream before the excess current causes damage. Metal elements have a very low inductance and good response to fast rise-time transients. They are also known for their good surge-handling capabilities. Riedon’s MT series is available from 1 W to 10 W with 1% and 5% tolerance as standard. TCRs range from ±20 ppm/°C to ±180 ppm/°C and resistance values range from 0.003 Ω to 0.2 Ω. Applications for the MT series include instrumentation, audio equipment, automotive current sensing circuits, switching and linear power supplies, access control, regulators, and power amplifiers.
High-Voltage Thick Film Resistors
Riedon’s HTE series uses thick film technology in a non-inductive cylindrical construction for through-hole mounting. They provide resistance values from 1 kΩ to 100 MΩ, while also achieving non-inductive performance and a TCR rating of ±100 ppm. HTE resistors are available from 0.7 W to 15 W power ratings with tolerances between ±1% and ±10%. Their high-voltage design allows for a maximum of 48 kV working voltage rating.
MSR Series Ultra-Low Ohm, Current Sense, Through-Hole Resistor
The MSR series from Riedon uses a bare metal element in an all-welded construction for through-hole circuit board mounting to provide resistance values from 5 mΩ to 100 mΩ, while also achieving low inductance (<10 nH) and low TCR (±20 ppm/°C). MSR resistors are available in 1 W, 3 W, and 5 W power ratings with tolerances of ±1% or ±5%. Riedon’s capability to produce low ohmic values, with well-defined tolerances, enables it to serve a wide range of current sensing and shunt resistor applications.
